Dear MA Program applicants,

This is to inform you that you are invited to take an oral exam on Thursday, June 25, 2026. 

The interviews will be held in EF 110 (North Campus, Education Faculty Building). The estimated time for each applicant’s interview is indicated in the schedule.

Professor Ayşe Gürel was invited as a plenary speaker at the 18th Generative Approaches to Second Language Acquisition Conference (GASLA 18), which was held at the University of Cambridge in April 2026. GASLA is one of the leading international conferences in the field of second language acquisition research. Professor Gürel delivered a plenary talk titled “What can agglutinative morphology tell us about inflectional variability in the L2: Evidence from Turkish.” The talk explored how Turkish morphology can contribute to current debates on variability in L2 acquisition of inflectional morphology.

We are pleased to announce that we will host the 12th INGED ELTER (English Language Teacher Education Research) Special Interest Group (SIG) Meeting.

The event will take place on June 19, 2026 (Friday) as a one-day meeting, bringing together researchers and practitioners to share insights and current work in English language teacher education.

Participants will have the opportunity to engage in discussions, exchange ideas, and connect with colleagues working in related areas.

We are deeply saddened by the untimely loss of Uğur Çakıroğlu, a graduate of our Master’s Program and a current instructor at the Boğaziçi University School of Foreign Languages. Uğur was a hardworking, successful, and promising student dear to us all. We will miss him deeply and always remember him with love.

Yüksek Lisans Programımızdan 2022 yılında mezun olan YADYOK Öğretim Görevlisi Uğur Çakıroğlu’nu zamansız kaybetmenin derin üzüntüsünü yaşıyoruz. Uğur hepimizin çok sevdiği, çalışkan, başarılı ve gelecek vaat eden bir öğrenciydi. Kendisini her zaman sevgiyle ve özlemle anacağız.
