DADM

Our Department is conducting a language teaching project initiated by the Sarıyer Directorate of National Education. Named “Ders Arası Dil Molası” (DADM), the project aimed at developing English communication skills of 3rd through 5th grade students in 7 state schools in the District of Sarıyer. Based on a program designed by our Department in line with the syllabi recommended by the Ministry of Education, our senior students taught regular supplementary English classes for two semesters to primary school students in inspiring classrooms specially designed and decorated for the project and helped them lower their inhibitions towards the language and gain more self-confidence in speaking it. Our teacher candidates played a vital role in reaching these goals through designing lessons plans, preparing materials, and actual teaching, which they have achieved alongside their course load in the Practicum. The project has provided our senior students a valuable opportunity of actual teaching and to observe language teaching environments in different schools before they graduate.
