Yasemin Bayyurt is professor of Applied Linguistics in the Department of Foreign Language Education at Boğaziçi University. Her current research focuses on pedagogy of English as a Lingua Franca (ELF), Disciplinary literacies in EMI and CLIL classrooms in K12 and beyond, academic writing and distance/blended learning. Her publications include articles in various indexed/refereed journals (i.e. Language, Culture and Curriculum, Journal of Multilingual and Multicultural Development, Journal of English for Academic Purposes), edited books, and book chapters published by renown national/international publishers. She edited/co-edited “Current Perspectives on Pedagogy for English as a Lingua Franca” (De Gruyter, 2015), “Bloomsbury World Englishes Volume 3: Pedagogies” (Bloomsbury, 2021), and “English as a Lingua Franca in the Language classroom: Applying Theory to ELT Practice” (Routledge, 2024).

2014-2015 Teacher trainer, in collaboration with Assoc. Prof. Nicos Sifakis (from Hellenic Open University) and Elif Kemaloğlu developed an online ELF-aware in-/pre-service teacher module and trained 32 in-service English language teachers from both public and private sectors and and 69 pre-service teachers on becoming an ELF-aware teachers in Turkey, Greece and Brazil as part of Boğaziçi University Scientific Research Projects, Project Number: 8000.
 
2013-2014 Teacher trainer, in collaboration with Assoc. Prof. Nicos Sifakis and Elif Kemaloğlu. She developed an online ELF-aware in-/pre-service teacher module and trained 25 in-service English language teachers from both public and private sectors and 55 pre-service teachers on becoming an ELF-aware teachers in Turkey and Greece as part of Boğaziçi University Scientific Research Projects, Project Number: 8000.
 
2012-2013 Teacher trainer, in collaboration with Assoc. Prof. Nicos Sifakis (from Hellenic Open University) she developed an online ELF-aware in-service teacher module and trained 12 in-service English language teachers from both public and private sector on becoming an ELF-aware teachers in Turkey and Greece.
